Introduction to RSS Feeds
RSS feeds are a powerful asset for most websites, especially blogs. Growing your RSS feed’s subscribed viewers can bring serious traffic back to your site and even offer you the opportunity to make a few bucks by monetizing your RSS feed.
A quick way to build your feed’s popularity (and a general good move for your site’s SEO) is to submit your feed to RSS directories. Similar to website directories, RSS directories index feeds and categorize them by topic. Google and other search engines will then index these feeds.
I know manually submitting to RSS directories can be a painful process, but I can assure you that it is worth your time. If you cannot find the time to do so you can hire an SEO firm or purchase RSS directory submitter software. While writing this article I came across this free one. Whatever your method, for the sake of your website’s SEO get it done!
I’ve searched for the most comprehensive RSS directory lists and compiled them below. All links open in new windows.
